About the experience

Taste the natural bounties of the Tavush region, from juicy berries to zesty greens to wild mushrooms, on a Dilijan Woodland Feast, a 3 course Wild Food Adventure set in the mountains of Dilijan National Park. Starting from our guest house near Haghartsin Monastery, we’ll go off-roading to our wild dining location, set in the thick forests of the park and with stunning views of the sheer rock cliffs of the Ijevan Mountains

Your dining experience will begin with welcome cocktails made from local honey wine and wild edible herbs, followed by 3 carefully created courses based on the culinary traditions of Tavush, which we will prepare right there in the forest using local, seasonal ingredients. While you dine and soak in the fresh mountain air, we’ll share stories behind each dish, including where they come from and what they mean for the local people of Tavush. You’ll go home with both a full tummy and heart.

Dilijan Woodland Feast is a Wild Food Adventure developed by 2492’s nonprofit arm, ONEArmenia (1A), named “can’t miss” culinary experiences in Armenia by Forbes, and featured in Food&Wine Magazine.

Hosted by Gevorg & Anna

We’re a local couple that moved to the Tavush region to manage Vanatun Guest House in the forests of Dilijan near Haghartsin Monastery. When we’re not hosting travelers at the guest house or in the forests on this Wild Food Adventure, we like to spend our time searching for traditional recipes from the Tavush region to incorporate into our menus. We can’t wait to show you why we chose to move to Tavush, and all its natural (and edible) wonders!

Here’s why this experience stands out:

Local, Seasonal Ingredients: All the dishes featured on this Wild Food Adventure are prepared using seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms or foraged from the forest.

Native, Authentic Recipes: With the support of an expert Armenian food historian, your hosts have created a menu that is true to the culinary heritage of the region, preserving and sharing local food traditions with travelers like you.

Expertly Trained Local Hosts: Your hosts have been trained in the culinary arts, hygiene, food and waste management, environmental protection, first aid, and hospitality at the Yeremyan Academy, Armenia’s top culinary school, so that you can enjoy this experience in comfort.

Untouched Natural Landscapes: This experience takes place in Dilijan National Park, one of four national parks in Armenia. Your hosts take all the necessary steps to ensure that the natural environment is left as it was before your experience. Plus, a portion of your booking goes to the Caucasus Nature Fund, which doubles the amount and donates it to Trails For Change, a local nonprofit that builds trails in Armenia and promotes environmentally friendly ecotourism.

Transforming the lives of local people through meaningful and sustainable experiences like this one is why we do what we do at 2492. We believe that Armenia can be a wonderful place to both visit and live in, which is why each of the experiences on this platform were thoughtfully built not only to connect you with local people and ways of life, but also positively impact the lives and communities that you encounter. Learn more about how we do this by visiting ONEArmenia, our nonprofit arm advancing sustainable travel in Armenia.
