About the experience

Both the journey and the destination are the stars of this Wild Food Adventure as you traverse the rocky, Martian-like mountain terrain from Dvin village before settling down to a 3-course traditionally grilled meal among the golden peaks of Yeranos. On the way, you’ll get a spectacular view of the Azat Reservoir not many get to experience, and get in touch with your inner adventurer! See the menu here.

Born and raised in the village of Dvin, David has always been connected to nature. Exploring the mountains with his father has been one of his favorite activities since he was a child. You could even say that his childhood was spent in the mountains, where he knows every bush and stone. Even today, he is very fond of guiding hiking groups or just giving them advice, directing them to more interesting places in the area. A history enthusiast, he also agreed to take part in the excavations which are taking place on the top of Mount Yeranos to discover a settlement thought to be between 4,000 and 6,000 years old. As part of the development of the Wild Food Adventures: Yeranos Mountains with ONEArmenia, David also took part in an extensive culinary and hospitality training program at Yeremyan Academy. He has been an essential partner in developing this experience. His father, who has been the mayor of Dvin village for years, is now one of the drivers of this experience.

This menu was carefully created by your hosts with support from an expert Armenian food historian, and is based on the culinary traditions of the region. All ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced.

Here’s why this experience stands out:

Local, seasonal ingredients: All our dishes are cooked using seasonal ingredients sourced from local communities.

Native, authentic recipes: With the support of an expert Armenian food historian, your hosts have created a menu that is true to the culinary and cultural traditions of each location while preserving its cultural heritage with local and near-forgotten recipes.

Expertly trained community hosts: Your hosts have been trained in the culinary arts, hospitality, customer service, and food hygiene so that you can enjoy the Armenian Highland in comfort.

Untouched natural landscapes: Your experience is set in a place of outstanding natural beauty. A donation of 2,000 AMD from your trip will go to the Caucasus Nature Fund, who will double that amount and send it to a local conservation organization to ensure that we not only keep it beautiful but contribute to its wellbeing. In Areni, your donation will go towards the Arpa Protected Landscape, and in Yeranos, the Khosrov State Reserve. Additionally, your hosts have been trained in environmental protection and waste management to keep these landscapes untouched.

Transforming the lives of local people through meaningful and responsible experiences like this one is why we do what we do at 2492.
